Anything goes…

is this weeks challenge over at Scrapbook Sisters Blog.

This card I made for a work colleagues sisters birthday so I’ve cheated a bit.

s 023A very simple card to make – Spellbinders shape and cut and emboss punches for the flowers and leaves.

s 024The flowers are punched from patterned and pearl papers and liquid pearls flower centres.

s 022

The butterfly is stamped onto pearl  paper and coloured with distress inks.

Make sure you add your project for the challenge.

Thanks for stopping by.

Digis 2

Hi everyone. Tonight I  am sharing the card that my lovely ladies made in the class on Friday at Scrapbook Sisters.

This used one of the butterfly images.

digis may 12 005The butterfly was enlarged and printed off and also a slightly smaller version for the use of the wings.

digis may 12 006For the butterflies colour I dropped some alcohol inks onto my craft sheet and added some blending solution. The butterflies are laid into the ink to absorb the colours. Once dry use a versamark pen to dot out from the body of the smaller butterfly and a versamark pad to edge the outer wings of the larger butterfly and sprinkle with gold embossing powder and heat. The wings are cut from the smaller butterfly and silicone on top of the larger. Add a black flower stamen and wire under the body.

digis may 12 007The pink paper shape was cut using a Tim Holtz on the edge die and the edges inked, stamped with a flourish stamp and sentiment with walnut.

digis may 12 008The card is then assembled with the butterfly and some die cut and flowers to finish.

The second card uses the flourish digi image with the two butterfly digi images.

digis may 12 041This card uses a mixture of copics, distress inks and embossing powder. The edges of the card are dabbed with a glue stick and sprinkled with the embossing powder and heated.

Latest Digi Stamps

I have been quiet for a while but I have been preparing for the launch of my latest Digi stamps for my class at Scrapbook Sisters last Friday

The first image that I am going to share with you is the rose. The theme for these stamps was Wedding and birthday but can equally be used for anniversary and sympathy cards.

digis may 12 034

Copics were used for the shading on the rose petals and leaves. The top layers of the petals, the stem and base of the rose were cut out and layered onto the main image

digis may 12 035

The top section of the rose and leaves were cut away from the main card and the inside of the card was covered in a pale pink pattern paper.

digis may 12 037

Organza ribbon wrapped around the stem before sticking to the main image.

digis may 12 036 Diamond dust  over the petals to finish off.

The second version is printed onto texture card and water coloured using distress inks.

digis may 12 031 Patterned paper strips scored on a scoring board to produce the pleated border around the main image,

digis may 12 032

and finished off with a seam binding bow.digis may 12 033

Julie has produced a disc of these latest images which can be purchased at Scrapbook sisters. The disc contains 10 digi images and all of the card samples made for the class, to give you some inspiration.

I will post the rest of digi cards over the course of this week. I hope you like them.

Thanks for stopping by.

Glitter & Gems

is this weeks challenge on Scrapbook Sisters blog.

I decided to use the birdcage stamp from Kaisercraft. I brought this at Ally Pally and decided it fitted in with the card I was going to make for this challenge.

s 016I stamped some foliage from another Kaisercraft set and then stamped the birdcage on top. This then was cut out with one of spellbinders dies and a doily placed behind.

s 017The flowers are made from circles of tissue paper layered up. I looked everywhere for my tissue paper but no where to be found, but I came across of Laura Ashley tissue wrap, it did have the name written all over it  but by the time it was crumpled and glittered it didn’t notice. I popped a clear gem in the centres.

s 018s 019White florist wire, Perfect Pearls and Glamour to finish off.
